This trip explores a local culture, livelihood and rain forest of Borneo. Your Borneo adventure begins with travel Pontianak and continuing to Putussibau-Kapuas Hulu District, a district in a eastern Pontianak-West Kalimantan-Indonesia. Trek though the world’s oldest rainforest to a local costmary protected forest. It is home to thousands of different plant and animal species. Live among the Dayaks to experience their traditional lifestyle and to observe their culture and learn about the history. Your trip activities are directly benefits the villagers in the area, for they provide services for the boat, the trek and stay.

Day 1 (Friday) As arrival before noon, lunch in Putussibau.
Car to Sungai Utik for 1, 5 hours. As arrival, reception ceremony conducted by Iban community in long-house. Traditional Dayak welcome music, dance, drinks, and cookies. Check in to the local rooms to stay. In the afternoon, relax the environment by visiting some area such aslocal fruit garden nearby or just take bath (Mandi) at the river (Optional). In the evening see handicraft in the long-house, prepare for overnight, participatory cooking (some guests may be vegetarians or have allergies!), dinner, mingling with community, early to bed.Day 2 (Saturday) Rice breakfast. Visit to local school then walk to the community forest. While walking to the forest explore the local garden and Tembawang. In the forest Introduction (by LGB) to the typical features of the tropical rain forest. Examples of some important tree species that the Dayak make use of. Useful products including food that can be found. How to make a fire for cooking a meal showed by the Dayak Iban. Search for plants to eat – “survival course”. (Lunch – ready-made).
Return to the village by local wooden longboat. More handicraft for those who wish. How to make a bamboo flute.
Opportunity to meditate in a quiet place in the forest close to the longhouse for those who wish. Cooking, dinner. Overnight at the Dayak Iban Longhouse.Day 3 Rice breakfast, feedback from the group. Pack and car to Putussibau Airport.
